Event Series Event Series: Walk All Over Waterloo!

This monthly First Friday family-friendly event showcases what the Waterloo Arts District is known for: Music, Art and Food! Galleries and businesses have open houses and special events.

  • Waterloo Makes Music is moving inside to the Beachland Ballroom and they’ve added a special guest. Join them on Friday, for Total Downer and Public Squares with special guest opener Jake Sprecher. Show starts at 6:30 p.m. A free meal will be provided by the Beachland Ballroom and Tavern, to the first 100 guests at the show, thanks to a Neighbor Up grant with Neighborhood Connections.
  • In the Ballroom, Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys; Nafan and the Mailmen; ham; Amphibian; Radio Dummies.
  • At TreeLawn, Misty Blues at 8 p.m.   Saturday, Ernie Krivda.
  • At the MillFill: MoKo BoVo, 8-11:30 Special menu starting at 5 p.m., featuring Raddell’s sausages, and Pickles’ Pickles. Maxwell Street Polish Sausage – sweet horseradish mustard, house-made sauerkraut, pickled peppers and caramelized onions. Italian Sausage Sandwich – shredded provolone, marinara, and sauteed peppers and onions. Smoked Slovenian or Hungarian Sausage Sandwich – choice of sauerkraut, stadium mustard, yellow mustard, ketchup, or house made Zesty Stadium Mustard on a bun. IPAs, lagers, pilsners, stouts, blondes, farmhouse ales, porters, ciders and much, much more.


  • Mobile Home Opening Reception: Friday, August 4, 6-9 p.m. Artist Walk-throughs at 6:30 p.m. After-party in the alley at 9 p.m. featuring Muamin Collective. at Waterloo Arts.
  • Deathland and Dreamscapes, ​Diana Pemberton Exhibition Opening, 6-8 p.m. at Praxis.
  • Bazaarbeque Vol 10: A group exhibition including artwork from 115 artists. Friday 5-9 p.m. at KINK Gallery in the Gold Building.
  • Modern Garden,  Michael Loderstedt’s cyanotypes on fabric, fabric collage. At William Busta Projects, 15517 Waterloo Road, in a pop-up with the fabulous Lori Kella.
  • Selections from Landscape Interventions: 500+ Drawings by Julie Langsam, at At Deep End Gallery. Reception, 5-8 p.m.
  • Phone Gallery, Now through the end of August, check out Austrian-born Clevelander Patrick Arthofur’s stunning infrared photography.
  • Framed Gallery Outstanding collection of African-American art, all for sale. Gallery open Friday 6-9 p.m. 15813 Waterloo Rd
  • Article Studios and Gallery: Jim Soppelsa Returns to Article. Friday August 4. 6-9 p.m.

  • Morgan Bukovec’s “Be Here Now” series. Open House at Pop Life, 6-8:30 p.m.

Food and Entertainment

  • Millard Fillmore pop-up: Pickles’ Pickles and Raddells Sausage, 5-10 p.m.
  • R&D Sausage Co.: Grill & Chill, Friday & Saturday, 5-9 p.m. The meat masters at R&D pause their every-day providing of fine meat and traditional sausage, to create a family-style barbeque, along with pretty darn good sides. Fine meats from Gifted Grass Farms.
  • Doinks Smash Burger: Triple B Burger (black bean and beet). All whole ingredients made in house to satisfy you no beefers. Available At 4 p.m.
  • SSW Boardwalk: Waterloo Wax Night 11 a.m. – 2:30 a.m.
  • Juicy Vegan at NuLife Fitness – food that looks more transgressive than it is. Noon-8 p.m.
